Expansion Content:
Eldritch Realms expands upon the base game Age of Wonders 4, introducing new content focused on the arcane and cosmic. This expansion adds a variety of gameplay elements and customization options.
New World Form:
- Aethelgard: A new world type characterized by its chaotic and unpredictable nature. Features dynamic map generation with unique encounters and challenges.
Additional Tomes of Magic:
Three new Tomes of Magic are included, offering players distinct paths for empire development and spellcasting:
- Tome of the Eldritch: Focuses on the manipulation of cosmic forces and summoning alien entities.
- Tome of the Bizarre: Introduces unconventional spells and abilities, often with unpredictable outcomes.
- Tome of the Warp: Emphasizes spatial distortion and teleportation tactics.
Racial Forms & Units:
- Two New Racial Forms: Provides additional starting options for player empires, each with unique inherent bonuses and visual styles.
- New Units: A selection of new units are available, accessible through the new Tomes of Magic and racial forms. These units offer varied combat roles and strategic applications.
Events & Infestations:
- Cosmic Events: New global events that can significantly alter gameplay, introducing temporary boons or challenges to all empires.
- Eldritch Infestations: Persistent threats that can emerge on the world map, requiring player intervention to cleanse and offering specific rewards upon completion.
Realm Traits:
- Several new Realm Traits are introduced, allowing for greater customization of world generation and offering different starting conditions and strategic implications for new game sessions.
